Fungi are tiny organisms that grow on the skin and under the nails, visible only under a microscope. These organisms are found in many environments around us, particularly in places like shoes and slippers, towels, gardens, homes, public showers, gyms, pool steps, hotel and mosque carpets, and other shared spaces.

All fungal infections are highly contagious and can spread easily. If untreated, foot and nail fungal infections can spread to other areas of the body, be transmitted to others, or lead to more serious bacterial infections within the body.
